| Sunday was pretty memorable. My two sisters and I went to mass at Magallanes. The church was burnt! The damage was terrible! The structure was still standing but all the glass was broken, pews destroyed, fans melted, etc! It was a very expensive fire. The church was fully airconditioned, the pews were made of solid narra, the altar made of sculpted marble. There were even two LCD projectors installed. It's so depressing to see a burnt church. Makes one think. Should one liken it to Jesus' destroying a temple and rebuilding it in 3 days?
Anyway, after mass we had dinner at Pancake House Magallanes. Mama and I both ate their club sandwich and got food poisoning. Was vomitting, had tummy ache and diarrhea. Good thing Mark was there to nurse me back to good health. He patiently sat beside me, fetching me water, making me drink meds and drink gatorade and Hydrite. Hurray for Mark! I'm so lucky I have someone like him :) |
| my bday was on Sept. 17. people started greeting me around midnight. Was happily eating asado bread from binondo (tnx howie!) yummy!
I wasn’t really thaaat happy. if you know me well enough to know how I feel about my birthday (and how I think it should be spent), you’d understand hehe J things on my mind: 1. I have no bday party (huhuhu I’m the bday party girl! Remember pisay caf parties?) 2. Nobody has given me gifts (except more binondo food from howie). 3. Only 2 people CALLED to greet me! (Huhuhu text lahat! 8pesos lang naman tawag eh! O di kaya landline! Hindi ko pa nasagot yung mga tawag) 4. I don’t even have a birthday cake. L no candle blowing for me. I spent my birthday sleeping….ALL DAY. how exciting. Mark and I had plans to go out Sat night to have dinner and watch a movie. He picked me up at 9pm. Was upset because I thought that it’s too late for a movie (strict ang parents ko) and most restaurants are about to close. He even suggested that we try this place at blue wave. I didn’t want to eat there because someone told me the food was so-so. When we arrived at blue wave, we had to leave because someone called to say that the gas tank was leaking. I was so sad then. Tears were streaming down my face on the way there and I was very quiet. I was thinking, “why does everything have to go wrong on my bday?” I refused to go down from the car because I didn’t want other people to see me crying. I knew I was going to burst into tears any minute. I was crying my heart out (complete with hands covering my face). When I looked out the window, I saw kim, joyce, and the rest of the gang!!! I was so embarrassed!! Ang pangit ko! Hahaha Guess what? I had a cake! And a card! And pancit, buttered spicy shrimps, baked tahong, tuna sisig, calamares, hickory pork and fruit salad crepes! Yehey! In short, I had a great birthday when I thought I would have the worst birthday ever. God has been so good to me. He gave me a wonderful wonderful boyfriend and amazing friends (who spoil me!!!) Thanks to Mark, Joyce, Kim, Weng, Aisa, Leah, Lisa, Pia, Toto, Ryan, Martin, Joshua, Ate Che and Little Nikki for making my 21st birthday memorable (and funny!) |
